Pair of ravens displaying high above the wood. Heard a stock dove calling.

Put up some tit boxes in the wood. Saw a blue tit investigating one of them shortly after!

First chaffinch singing in the wood this year.

Dead woodpigeon by roadside near wood. Apparently its last meal was ivy berries!

Flushed a woodcock in the wood and a tawny owl from one of my newly installed boxes - hopefully it will return!

Mist netting today somewhat spoiled by a pack of puppy hounds marauding in and around the wood. Only caught a handful of birds.
